The New York Citizens’ Committee on Aging promotes the status and well-being of older persons as productive members of society. The Committee ensures that policy issues affecting older persons are heard, understood, and acted upon.
In pursuing this purpose, it:
- Sponsors presentations that expand awareness and understanding of issues and initiatives.
- Provides an impartial forum for the exchange of information among a wide range of agencies and individuals interested in issues that affect elderly citizens.
- Analyzes relevant legislation, regulations and their implications.
- Develops and publishes position papers.
- Collaborates with organizations that share common goals.
- Disseminates pertinent news, analyses, and recommendations to its membership, policy makers, experts, and the broader public.
